What You Will Do:
Ascension Saint Agnes is looking to hire an internal medicine residency program director who is also an MD/DO Board Certified in Internal Medicine.

Responsibilities:
Administer the residency and/or medical student program.
- Provide oversight and organization for the activities of the residency and/or medical student education program in all facilities that participate in the program, including the monitoring of resident and/or medical student supervision.
- A program director is a role model for faculty members and residents. As such, the program director must participate in clinical activitity consistent with the specialty. This activity will allow he program director to role model the Core Competencies for the faculty members and residents. Further, the program director must have experience working as part of an interdisciplinary, interprofessional team to create an educational environment that promotes high-quality care, patient safety, and resident well-being.
- Assign clinical rotations and staff appointments of attending physicians on teaching services.
- Implement policies and procedures related to the residency and/or medical student program.
- Plan scheduling and back-up support as needed.
- Ensure compliance with grievance and due process procedures.
- Submit all information required and requested by various accrediting bodies, including but not limited to program information forms and annual program resident and/or medical student updates.
- Develop and maintain the evaluation programs for faculty, residents, interns and medical students.
- Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with institutions of higher learning for the advancement of firm initiatives.
- Role is 50% administrative and 50% clinical.

- Leadership & Management Skills: Strong organizational and administrative abilities to effectively manage residency programs, faculty, budgets, accreditation, etc.
- Teaching Abilities: Excellent clinical teaching skills. Ability to teach residents in clinical settings and lecture effectively. Enthusiasm for education and mentoring residents.
- Clinical Expertise: Solid up-to-date knowledge and skills in internal medicine. The ability to be a clinical role model for residents.
- Scholarship: Established track record of research, publication, presentation at conferences, etc. This demonstrates commitment to academic medicine and advancing the field.
- Interpersonal Skills: Ability to build relationships, communicate effectively, provide constructive feedback, resolve conflicts, and motivate team.
- Commitment to Residency Education: Dedicated to guiding residents, advocating for their needs, and ensuring excellent educational experiences.
- Knowledge of Accreditation Standards: Experience with ACGME requirements, Milestones assessments, Clinical Competency Committees, etc.
- Recruitment Skills: Ability to attract high quality residency candidates and match top students.
- Passion for Mentorship: Genuine interest in advising residents in career planning, research, and other aspects beyond clinical training.
- Program Management: Organized and able to oversee curriculum design, evaluation, resident selection, budgets, scheduling, and improvement initiatives.

Licensure / Certification / Registration:
- Physician MD/DO credentialed from the Maryland Board of Physicians obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Verified by local Credentialing Office.
Education:
- High School diploma equivalency with 5 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required, with 2 of those years being in leadership/management OR Associate's degree/Bachelor's
degree with 3 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required, with 2 of those years
being in leadership/management.
- 3 years of experience in respective field required. 10 years of experience preferred.
- 2 years of leadership or management experience required. 5 years of leadership or management experience preferred.
