The AVALA Physician Network is actively searching for a dedicated, compassionate, and driven Neurologist to join its award-winning roster of physicians. The right candidate will work with a growing community of providers and physicians to offer the highest standards of medical care to the Greater New Orleans area and surrounding communities. Board Certified and Board Eligible physicians are invited to explore the exciting medical landscapes AVALA has to offer and be a part of building a practice to further develop relationships within our community and with our patients. We are looking for a talented and eager physician to assist our patients in navigating through their treatment plans and guide them to trust healthcare again.

In addition to the hospital, AVALA provides diagnostic imaging services, physical and hand therapy, physician clinics, and urgent orthopedic care.  Neurologist Responsibilities: 

• Diagnosing complex medical problems by referring to a patient’s history, performing patient examinations, and conducting neurological tests. 
• Perform Visual and Brainstem Evoked Responses, EEG, EMG, Nerve Conduction Studies, etc. 
• Counseling patients on neurological disorders and their background. 
• Ordering neurological tests and interpreting the results of neuroimaging studies. 
• Prescribing and/or administering treatment and medication. 
• Monitoring the behavioral and cognitive side effects of treatment and medication. 
• Ordering supportive care services for patients. 
• Participating in neuroscience research activities. 
• Liaising with medical professionals in the community and hospitals. 
• Keeping up-to-date with neurological developments, treatments, and medication.
