Pilates Instructor
SUPERVISOR
Director of Health & Fitness Programming
POSITION STATUS
Independent Contractor
Pay per hour based on experience and credentials
Pay by commission structure based on revenue for personal/ small group teaching (as applicable)
Active on a weekly schedule for JCC individual membership
QUALIFICATIONS
Completion of an accredited national group fitness certification (Certification must be current).
Completion of Mat + Full Apparatus Repertoire (reformer, tower, stability chair, Cadillac, and barrel preferred but not required)
Completion of adult CPR/First Aid/AED certification. Must be current and renewed bi-annually
Completion of an undergraduate degree with a specialization in the human performance sciences, preferred but not required
Completion of nationally accredited certifications in other modalities, areas of specialty, preferred but not required
Completion of nationally accredited certifications in personal training preferred but not required
General professional and personal liability insurance from a nationally accredited agency must be active
Two years of similar experience as a Pilates instructor preferred.

PROFESSIONAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Sees this work as a "Professional Position"
Administers the Center's emergency and/or injury procedures as required.
Arrive 10-minutes before class to meet and support new participants
Assesses participant health conditions, injuries, needs for modification with preparation to improvise and teach accordingly during class.
Designs and delivers structured, sequential, and progressive instruction routines for group settings including a range of fitness levels, ages, goals, and interests.
Monitors and assesses each participant's progress and results during class by providing ongoing guidance and encouragement.
Ensures participant confidentiality as needed.
Identifies and reports all equipment concerns to the HFA Assistant.
Ensures members follow the Center's safety guidelines while exercising
Refers members to the programs and services available at the Center that will assist them in meeting their needs.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Proficiency in the use of a variety of exercise equipment specific as appropriate to modalities being taught
Proficiency in the use of computers for internet-based communication and payroll process.
Successful completion of a child abuse registry and criminal record check.
EXPECTATIONS

Maintains the highest level of personal conduct, and representation of the Wagner JCC
Follows facility guidelines for Covid-19 mandates, or others as applicable
Implements proper sanitation and cleaning duties of all equipment, props and areas used
