POSITION SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Field Operations Manager, this basic position will be
performing pipe welding, fitting, stainless tubing
install and testing for our field piping installations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operate safety equipment and use safe work habits including, but not
limited to: working at heights, confined space,
overhead cranes, etc.
Ensure proper positioning and alignment and secure parts and assemblies
prior to welding.
Use level, two-hole pins, and tape measures.
Examine work pieces for defects and measure work pieces with
straightedges or templates to ensure conformance
with specifications.
Recognize, set up, and operate hand and power tools common to the
welding trade.
Clamp, hold, tack-weld, heat-bend, grind or bolt component parts to
obtain required configurations and positions
for welding.
Travel domestically and internationally up to 75% per year.
Conduct activities in a safe and healthy manner and work in accordance
with established safety and company
requirements.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide personal tools according to the department tool list.
Perform set-up, material handling duties, and minor general maintenance.
Responsible for area housekeeping.
Participate in the processes of continuous improvement including efforts
to meet company smart goals.
Promote a positive working environment in order to achieve the
organizations goals.
Perform other duties as assigned.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work is performed in an uncontrolled atmosphere. Exposure to harsh
conditionssuch as: dust, fumes, chemicals,
hazardous materials, noise, and varying weather and temperatures. All
employees are required to follow safety
standards and wear all personal protective equipment in designated
areas. Shift work may be required as production
demands change.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that
must be met by an employee to successfully
perform the essential function of this job. While performing the duties
of this position, the employee will regularly be
required to walk distances often on uneven ground including outside in
the rain, snow and heat. Stand, use hands and
fingers, grip, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or
balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk and hear;
and work in a consistent state of alertness and in a safe manner.
Ability to lift and carry 30 lbs. on a regular basis is
