Pipe Stress Engineer
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in an Engineering discipline.
- 6 or more years of related experience.
- Due to facility security requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for consideration at this time.
- Pre-employment background check and drug screening, which will include but is not limited to testing for marijuana use.
- Experience with AutoPipe.
Preferred
- Knowledge of ASME B31.3 and other relevant industry piping codes and standards.
- Experience with AutoPipe for pipe stress analysis.
- PE Registration.
- Previous Bechtel and/or NASA project experience.
Cimarron is seeking Pipe Stress Engineers to support the Mobile Launcher 2 (ML2) program. The ML2 will be used, like the first mobile launcher, as the platform for assembling and testing the Space Launch System (SLS) in the Vehicle Assembly Building at the Kennedy Space Center, transporting the rocket to Launch Complex 39B, and supporting the vehicles launch. The platform includes various interfaces for fueling the rocket, providing power and data, and a crew access arm. This opportunity is a hybrid role and will allow for some remote work (i.e. work from home a few days a week). For candidates not local to the KSC area, per diem is available.
Key Duties:
- Perform pipe stress analysis of systems following ASME B31.3 code using AutoPipe.
- Model piping systems to verify piping flexibility, stability, and qualification of equipment nozzle loads.
- Work closely with layout personnel and pipe support engineers to deliver a quality and cost-effective design.
- Coordinate with other engineering disciplines and vendors as required.
