Job Summary:
Responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining pipes that carry liquids or gases in various industrial, commercial environments.
Essential Job Functions:
- Reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the layout and installation of pipes.
- Cutting, threading, grooving, glueing and bending pipes using various tools and equipment. Installing piping supports of Unistrut, pipe hangers, cushion clamps, etc.
- Installing and connecting pipes, fittings, valves, and other components according to the specifications. Experienced with PVC, CPVC, Steel, Copper, Stainless Steel
- Testing pipes for leaks using pressure gauges, hydrostatic testing, or other methods.
- Repairing or replacing damaged pipes, fittings, or valves.
- Collaborating with other construction professionals, such as plumbers, welders, and HVAC technicians, to ensure proper installation and functioning of the piping system.
- Following safety regulations and using personal protective equipment to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Maintaining records of work performed, materials used, and equipment maintenance.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 4 years' experience in commercial / industrial pipefitting
- Willing to travel minimum of 2 weeks per year
- Willing to work weekends (when applicable)
- Working from heights
- Experience in safely operating (but not limited to): scissor lifts, articulating boom lifts, fork trucks
- Working from ladders
- Have a professional and courteous attitude
- Pay will be based on experience
