About the Job
Responsibilities:
- Provide CNS, Mission Engineering with piping design engineering support for facility and production area activities in Cat 2 and Cat 3 facilities.
- Provide design output documentation to support minor facility modifications. The types of design output documents typically developed by a piping design engineer within the Mission Engineering organization are drawings, engineering instructions, data sheets, equipment specifications, equivalency evaluations, calculations, etc.
- Develop designs in accordance with ASME B31.3 and ASME B31.1.
- Work with other engineering disciplines and other plant organizations to produce timely design output.
- Perform field walk-downs and work in a production environment.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET accredited school with a minimum of 5 years’ experience.
- Requires an understanding of Conduct of Engineering, Conduct of Operations, Conduct of Maintenance for facilities operating within a nuclear regulated environment.
- Familiarity with and experience in developing designs in accordance with ASME B31.3 and ASME B31.1.
- Requires strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interface effectively with various clients, production and support organizations, management, and hourly wage employees.
- Must be US citizen.
- Successful drug screening.
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a security or clearance badge.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 20 plus years of relevant professional experience.
- A Professional Engineering License (PE).
- An Active Q Clearance.
- Experience in an NRC or DOE regulated environment
