Our client is California is currently seeking a Piping Foreman in LA County.
Basic Job Functions & Requirements
- This individual as part of a team is to follow all safety rule and regulations. Report to work on a daily basis and on time. To accurately perform his or her task as a Pipefitter and will work under the guidance of a Field Superintendent or Project Manager depending on location of work assignment.
- Responsible for crew safety, daily productivity and schedule.
- Ensure that workers, equipment and materials are used properly to maximize productivity, efficiency, and safety.
- Exhibit high level of professionalism in interactions with management, supervisors and workers.
- Manage and direct crew on a daily basis to ensure understanding of work assignments.
- Near end of job completion, worked with punch list items and make corrections as necessary. Lays out, assembles, installs, and maintains pipe systems, pipe supports, and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment for steam, hot water, heating, cooling and industrial production and processing systems.
- Utilize complex 3D model, blueprints, drawings and technical manuals to fabricate and install piping systems.
- Conduct Quality Assurance/Control inspections on completed work and resolve any deficiencies.
- Able to perform the duties of a Pipefitter.
Applicable Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Capable of following written and verbal instruction in order to perform supervised functions outside area of general expertise.
- Possess necessary skills, knowledge and experience in welding and piping.
- Use of hand and power tools, and equipment such as cutting torches and metal working tools.
- Be able to work closely with other craftsmen and supervise helper level employees.
- Education and Experience
- Minimum high school or general education diploma (GED) with good math skills.
- Good mechanical aptitude with good mathematical skills to measure angles and be capable of layout and fabrication of piping and structural steel assemblies.
- Key Requirements
- Must be able to report to work on time and on a regular basis.
- Must be willing and capable of following chain of command, but also must be capable of independent thinking and action when necessary.
- Good verbal and written communication skills, strong problem solving skills, and also willing to assume a group leadership position if required.
