Mechanical Engineer – Piping & Utilities
Lead innovative projects and design solutions for industrial manufacturing clients.
We are seeking an experienced Piping & Utilities Engineer to prepare and manage detailed design packages for industrial manufacturing facilities. This key role involves working with process piping systems, performing calculations, stress analysis, equipment specification, and subcontractor bid evaluations. You’ll have the opportunity to lead multidisciplinary teams and collaborate on projects across multiple sites.
- Location: Greenville, SC (Employee-owned company with nationwide project locations)
Key Responsibilities
- Design & Management: Prepare, oversee, and deliver design packages for process piping systems.
- Technical Expertise: Conduct studies, calculations, and stress analysis for piping and utilities.
- Equipment Specifications: Develop detailed equipment specs and review subcontractor bids.
- Compliance & Standards: Ensure designs align with industry standards (including B31.3 code).
- Software Use: Utilize tools such as CAESAR II and AutoCAD for modeling and analysis.
- Field Support: Provide technical support during construction and field operations when needed.
- Client Relations: Build and maintain professional relationships with clients and stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (BSME required).
- Licensure: Active Professional Engineer (PE) registration is mandatory.
- Experience: 10+ years of relevant design experience, with expertise in:
- Jacketed piping and hot oil systems
- Familiarity with B31.3 code
- Proficiency in CAESAR II and AutoCAD preferred

- Communication Skills: Strong presentation, communication, and client relationship skills.
- Leadership: Comfortable leading multidisciplinary teams in both office and field environments.
