What You'll Do:
As the Purchaser / Buyer you will research, plan, and manage the purchasing and supply chain for materials, ensuring accurate, complete, and on-time inventory.
Your Accountabilities in the Role:
- Analyze historical sales data, market trends, and promotional activities to accurately forecast future demand for products.
- Monitor inventory levels to ensure adequate stock is available to meet customer needs while minimizing excess inventory costs.
- Place purchase orders with suppliers, negotiate terms, and track order fulfillment to ensure timely delivery.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to optimize performance, resolve issues, and negotiate favorable terms.
- Identify opportunities to improve supply chain efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance customer satisfaction.
Position Requirements:
- Education: Associates Degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Purchasing, or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience would be desired.
- Experience: 3+ years of progressive purchasing in a manufacturing environment, with setting inventory controls and inventory management preferred.
- Certification(s): n/a
- Functional Skills: Solid researching, planning, prioritization, organization, analytical, and detail-oriented skills are required to perform well in this role. Able to manage multiple priorities effectively to meet department goals and deadlines. Able to forecast material needs from system data and trends. High sense of urgency to ensure material purchasing and processes are done timely to meet important due dates. Solid business and math knowledge.
- Technology Aptitude/Skills: Solid working skillset in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Knowledgeable with ERP systems.
- Language Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to present and train others.
- Leadership/Behaviors: Customer-service oriented to support the team, compliance-oriented, and data focused who can work independently in a fast-paced environment, able to collaborate and network to meet job criteria; able to negotiate pricing and manage returns in a professional way; dependable and can handle both small and large projects, along with confidential matters appropriately. High sense of integrity and urgency to get things done well and proactively. Calm demeanor to work well in stressful situations with expediting materials.

Pay/Salary: Salary is commensurate with proven expertise. There is also a Bonus Program to recognize achievement!

Reports To: Plant Manager
Core Hours: 8:00 am - 5:00 pm (schedule can be flexible; will work approx. 8 hours within this timeframe)
Typical Work Week: M-F; some weekends [& OT] required (when applicable); 40 - 45 hours a week on average
