Overview:
The objective of the Maintenance Planner Role is to increase operational efficiencies through developing and maintaining a strong computer based Preventive Maintenance system and ensuring that all tasks are performed by well trained personnel following detailed MSOP’s. This position also operates in a supervisor capacity for team members and contractors performing maintenance in the manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities:- Support without hesitation General Plant Safety, Food Safety, Food Defense Initiatives and Good Manufacturing Practices with an understanding that these are absolutes and are Priority #1.
- Work with the Maintenance Manager to facilitate a teamwork environment throughout the department for the completion of PMs, work orders and projects.
- Develop and oversee the Maintenance Standard Operation Procedures and develop check list for each task. Work with Maintenance Supervisor to continuously train on MSOP’s.
- Weekly Evaluation and review of all operational equipment to plan for future projects and to ensure that PM’s are performed in a correct and timely manner.
- Daily Floor inspections with operations and maintenance to assess the challenges associated with the equipment. Communicate with machine operators on the performance of the equipment.
- Responsible for managing Work Orders and PM tasks in the SAP system and confirm that all tasks are up to date and individuals are trained on such tasks.
- Interact with the Project Engineer and Maintenance Manager on updating and managing work orders and PM’s as needed.
- Manage the daily processing of information within the system for the recording of PM’s and work order tasks.
- Develop and oversee a work order/ PM completion tracking program to inform personnel on how they are performing to the necessary standards.
- Oversee planned projects along with the Project Manager to confirm all aspects of the projects are managed from start to finish.
- Confirming the ordering of necessary parts to ensure that they are on hand for needed work orders and projects, including parts for the weekly, monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and annual PM tasks.
- Keeps in compliance and abreast of all necessary regulations and software updates.
- Generate weekly and period reports on the work order and PM’s completion and task effectiveness using KPI’s.
- Possess a working knowledge of GMP’s and HACCP.
- Complete a Food Safety Incident Report if an incident occurs.
- Complete a Safety Incident Report if an injury occurs.
- Participates and assists in all audits when requested.
- Follow and enforce all company GMP procedures. Document any violations
- Perform all special requests by the Maintenance Manager or Plant Manager
- High school graduate or equivalent; associates degree preferred.
- Basic knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems and parts required.
- Understand basic fundamentals of inventory control systems.Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Ability to analyze and solve complex problems.
- Self-managed and directed with strong time management skills and ability to prioritize work schedule.
- Good writing and documentation skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office software and basic office equipment.
- Well-developed interpersonal, communication and organization skills.

Working Conditions/Environment:Works in an office and manufacturing environment where the employee is regularly required to speak, read, hear, sit, stand, walk, and occasionally bend while moving about the facility. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes, odors, dust, oil, slippery floors and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the plant is loud and moderate in the office. Earplugs, hairnets, beard nets (if facial hair exists), safety glasses, & slip-resistant / steel-toed shoes are required in the plant in accordance with company GMP and safety standards. Ability to lift small, medium and large boxes weighing up to 50lbs maximum. Stooping, bending, twisting, pushing, pulling, walking and reaching may be required.
