Job Description/Responsibilities:The Materials Manager is responsible for (but not limited to):
- Directs Mr. Boston Brands of Maine and Sazerac of New Hampshire production planning department on order fulfillment. Direct production scheduling and assist purchasing to release/schedule materials to meet customer demand. Maintain inventory of filled/empty case goods materials. Perform subcontractor processes in System 21 pertaining to and managing outside storage of dry goods. Active participant with NBD team regarding set up of new products, gathers information i.e. raw materials, vendors, shipments, and inventory and directs scheduling/planning.
- Monitors and enforces OSHA and Company safety regulations and policies. Provides leadership to the safety program for the Materials Management department through development and execution of safe practices and operating procedures to minimize the occurrence and severity of workplace accidents. Assists in the investigation of EH&S incidents to determine and address root cause.
- Train and supervise direct reports to improve skills and performance. Evaluate employee performance and skill level to determine skill improvement needs and develop improvement plans to address needs. Create and develop a personal development plan with Plant Manager to improve a skill/competency that will improve performance.
- Ensure adherence to Personal Safety, Food Safety, Quality and Environmental Policies and Practices. Analyze and resolve schedule/component/materials quality problems. Direct the team on receipt and unloading of various bottling materials including closures, labels, bottles, and caps. Supervise receipt of goods for other departments. Verify accuracy of shipment against shipping documents as freight is unloaded. Document and investigate discrepancies. Ensure information is recorded accurately in company systems to update inventory records.
- Works with production scheduling and ensures glass/PET is scheduled/released for production. Oversees the management of inventories.
- Meet and exceed internal and external customer requirements by ensuring that daily deliveries are verified, material inventory records are up to date, and information is communicated in a timely manner to ensure no loss of production due to materials not received. Manager manages, oversees, and coordinates production needs to meet demand and manages activities in Order Entry, Scheduling, and Receiving departments to meet company goals, safety, and government compliance. Provide exceptional customer service by serving as a professional point of contact between vendors and customers and Mr. Boston Brands of Maine and Sazerac of New Hampshire.
- Oversee the Planning and Materials Management Department at MBBM in a manner consistent with the culture of the company. Ensure employees are treated fairly and with respect. - Understand career goals of team members and work with them to develop skills needed to succeed; create and execute a personal Career Development Plan with each team member with identified career goals and skill development needed to achieve the goals and achievement of overall career objectives.
Qualifications/Requirements:
MUST
- Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree
- Minimum of 5 years of superivsory experience
- Demonstrated ability to work quickly and effectively in demanding situations
- Demonstrated success in the design and implementation of process improvement initiatives
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Strong planning and organizational skills
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent
- Working knowledge of Word and Excel
- Demonstrate the ability to work as a team as well as self-directed
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in manufacturing software (ERP, MRP, MPS, WMS)
PREFERRED
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in monthly inventory and accounting closes
- Alcohol beverage indsustry experience
