We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Plant Controller to join our Accounting + Finance team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the financial health of our organization by managing all aspects of our plant's financial operations. You will be responsible for overseeing cost accounting, annual budgeting, treasury management, and coordination with human resources on financial matters. This position offers a unique opportunity to take on critical financial responsibilities and play a significant role in our company's success.
Responsibilities:
As a Permanent Plant Controller, you will be responsible for:
1. Overseeing all financial operations of the plant, including cost accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
2. Developing and implementing effective financial strategies, controls, and processes to enhance the company's financial status.
3. Managing the annual budget process, reviewing all financial plans and budgets regularly to look for cost reduction opportunities.
4. Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.
5. Coordinating with human resources to manage payroll, benefits, and other HR-related financial matters.
6. Collaborating with the management team to interpret results and make strategic decisions to improve financial performance and drive growth.
7. Leading treasury functions to meet the company's financial obligations and ensure the efficient use of resources.
8. Conducting reviews and evaluations for cost-reduction opportunities and managing capital requests and spending.
9. Preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, providing insights and recommendations to senior management.
Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
1. A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master's degree or CPA is preferred.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the Accounting + Finance industry.
3. Strong knowledge of cost accounting, budgeting, treasury management, and financial reporting.
4. Excellent analytical skills with an ability to drive meaningful actions from large data sets.
5. Proven ability to work cross-functionally with operations, human resources, and other teams to drive financial performance.
6. Strong leadership skills with an ability to influence and drive change.
7. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex financial information in a clear and concise manner.
8. Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly advanced Excel skills.
9. High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
10. Strong business and common sense.
