Plant Engineer The Plant Engineer will support the operations and maintenance of the plant, ensuring efficient, safe, and compliant processing of hazardous waste materials. This role involves overseeing the technical aspects of plant operations, including process optimization, equipment maintenance, and adherence to regulatory standards.
Essential Functions & Requirements:
- Monitor and optimize incineration processes to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime.
- Ensure that all plant systems are functioning within established parameters and safety standards.
- Collaborate with operations staff to troubleshoot and resolve any issues that may arise in the plant.
- Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs to reduce unplanned downtime.
- Lead in diagnosing and resolving equipment malfunctions or failures.
- Work closely with the maintenance team to plan and coordinate scheduled shutdowns and repairs
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations regarding hazardous waste management and incineration processes.
- Participate in safety audits and incident investigations to promote a safe working environment.
- Collect and analyze operational data to support performance monitoring and reporting
- Document maintenance activities and prepare reports as required.
- Analyze plant data to identify opportunities for process improvements and cost reduction.
- Implement engineering solutions to enhance plant performance, including upgrades to existing systems and the integration of new technologies.
- Lead or support engineering projects related to plant upgrades, expansions, or new construction.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure successful completion.
- Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and other stakeholders to achieve project goals.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering (required)
Experience:
- Minimum of three years' experience relevant experience (required)
Competencies:
- Strong understanding of engineering principles and hazardous waste management.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and environmental compliance requirements.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team.
- Willingness to work in a dynamic and potentially challenging environment.
