About the Job
In This Role, You Will:
- Provide hands-on support to resolve instrument and electrical issues as they occur at the plant.
- Inspect, calibrate, repair, install, and modify the process controls, control valves, safety devices, analyzers, PLC’s, field instrumentation (pressure, level, and flow instrumentation), process monitoring equipment, low and high voltage motors and breakers, control circuits, and distributed control systems.
- Investigate equipment failures, determine root cause of the failure as needed, and recommend revisions to improve equipment performance, system reliability, and capacity.
- Assist with the development of, implementation, and periodic review of preventative and predictive maintenance programs to reduce unplanned stop work, shutdowns, and to improve the overall plant capabilities.
- Evaluate new methodologies, best practices, equipment, instrumentation, controls, technology, etc. for application and use within the plant.
- Plan and execute both planned and unplanned shutdowns: provide both technical and hands-on support as required during shutdowns.
- Comply with all environmental, health and safety related best practices, policies, and procedures, including process safety management (PSM).
- Diligently adhere to and fulfill all Responsible Care® requirements, demonstrate a steadfast commitment to safety, environmental stewardship, and ethical practices in all aspects of your position within the organization.
- Electrical and mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to install, inspect, test, adjust, and repair electronic, electro-mechanical, control circuits and systems.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and Teams.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, electrical drawings, schematics, and equipment drawings, safety procedures, including federal and state OSHA guidelines.
- Ability to demonstrate safety when using hand tools and hand power tools commonly used in maintenance tasks.
- Understand the properties, behaviors, and hazards of the equipment with knowledge of machinery overhauls and refurbishment.
- Good organizational skills, the ability to work alone if necessary, and the ability to lead a crew.
- Associate’s degree in instrumentation or electrical related discipline desired.
- Five years of maintenance experience related to instrumentation and electrical in a chemical, or manufacturing related industrial environment.
- Experience with electrical controls, electrical distribution systems, and motor controls.
- Previous high voltage equipment maintenance experience and troubleshooting expertise to resolve issues safely.
