Job Summary

Responsible for the maintenance and repair of concrete plants and related equipment. To ensure maximum mechanical efficiency of all concrete plant equipment. The Plant Maintenance Worker reports directly to the Maintenance Superintendent, who will perform periodic performance appraisals of the Plant Maintenance Worker.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty outline in a satisfactory manner. To understand and observe all policies and procedures including but not limited to the Employee Handbook, Safety Manual and Drug Free Workplace Manual. Report any safety issues that you notice to the Safety Supervisor.

Essential Job Duties/Functions

        Construct/assemble new and used concrete plants and provide maintenance and repair on all associated equipment in a timely manner.

        Perform all maintenance operations (welding, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, hydraulics, and air systems) in accordance with technical specifications and safety regulations.

        Maintain equipment such as: feed systems, conveying systems, discharge hopper systems, weigh systems, cement storage systems, central mixer systems, load carrying systems, drive systems, water systems, air systems, electrical systems, hydraulic systems, recycling systems, structural systems, and other miscellaneous equipment, including heavy trucks and off-road equipment.

        Periodically inspect equipment in accordance with the company's Prescribed Inspection Schedule and complete equipment inspection and reports.

        Evaluate workload (with guidance of Maintenance Superintendent) and establish priority work schedules.

        Maintain clean work area and assist in cleaning shop and equipment.

        Ensure equipment is in safe operating order.

        CDL Class B license is a plus.

        Maintain a positive attitude.

        Possess a level of determination to successfully complete tasks, projects, and career responsibilities.

        Take the initiative to start new tasks or projects or operate out of their area of influence.

        Promote and maintain a clean work environment.

        Suggest and implement new ways to make our business better.

        Such other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
