What you'll do
As the Plant Manager for Utilimaster (A Shyft Brand) based at our facility in Bristol, IN, you will be accountable for the overall performance of the Aftermarket Modification / SSV operations, including but not limited to the areas of Scheduling, Material Handling, Assembly, Quality and Final Release.
You will focus on developing the annual sales and cost plan and budget and subsequent monthly periodic forecasts and budgets. Additionally, you will be responsible for implementing the strategic operational roadmap and ensuring that organizational goals and results regarding Safety, People, Quality, Delivery, and Cost are met.

What you'll do

You will also:
- Plan, organize, and direct production activities to meet or exceed established goals
- Ensure a safe, clean, and organized working environment for production teams
- Plan and manage all resource needs including headcount, equipment, and facilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain processes, procedures, and programs to continuously improve Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, Cost, and People
- Ensure compliance with all established regulatory standards, processes, and policies
- Collaborate with managers to address organizational needs, equipment uses, and maintenance
- Establish, measure, and communicate KPIs in the areas of Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, Cost, and People
- Manage cross-functional teams and problem-solving methodologies to identify, mitigate, and resolve issues and problems
- Oversee the development of the monthly production schedule
- Ensure department budgets are developed, implemented, and managed within approved budgets
- Direct, communicate, and coach your direct reports
- Cultivate an environment of trust, teamwork, accountability, poise, and business ownership
- Orchestrate employee development efforts to ensure they perform effectively
- Prepare all required reports and correspondence and solve complex problems with minimal aid
- Stay up to date on the overall activities of the team, identify problem areas, and take corrective actions
- Work in proximity with customers, as needed
What you need to be successful
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent plant management experience
- Seven or more (7+) years of manufacturing leadership experience
- Proven management experience
- Vehicle assembly line experience in a leadership role (Preferred)
- Proficient in managing production teams amid growth periods
- Expertise managing teams in a high-mix manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of Lean and Continuous Improvement (CI) methodologies
- Versed in problem-solving methods and techniques
- Strong financial acumen and managerial accounting
