Duties/Responsibilities: PLANT MANAGER
- Responsible for ensuring successful operations of all departments within the Foundry.
- Train team members on operations of machines and educate team members on general foundry knowledge and best practices.
- Responsible for product quality, team member safety, and on-time production of product through the departments across all shifts.
- Responsible to ensure that the team is following production, safety & quality protocols with a goal of 100% on time production, zero safety incidents, and less than 5% NCP/non-conforming parts.
- Responsible to instill the importance of high quality standards by checking quality regularly and training to prevent or correct quality issues.
- Responsible to ensure that all procedures and policies under his/her control are faithfully followed and that any breakdown in process is corrected and reported. If there is a problem with the process that needs to be revised, proper reporting to appropriate leadership is required prior to implementation of change.
- Responsible for the maintenance of the operational function of the stations and operational cleaning maintenance of stations.
- Responsible for the management of their team including:
- The enforcement of time and attendance protocols ensuring that all team members are at work on time, doing their job, and performing responsibilities safely and efficiently.
- Maintain zero tolerance around safety ensuring that all team members are following safety protocols including the proper use of safety gear at all times.
- Ensure proper training of team on all aspects of their jobs with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Ensure that all team members understand protocols, policies, expectations, and are a held accountable using HR protocols in partnership with Human Resources.
- The Plant Manager is required to understand the production process and to ensure that all materials needed for production are ordered and available in time to meet production schedule. All materials in the custody of the departments are to be logged and managed. Transfer of materials across departments should be accompanied by appropriate paperwork.
- The Plant Manager will participate in production meetings and maintain continuous communication with the production team regarding quality issues, concerns, timing, and inventory management that will impact quality or timelines.
- The Plant Manager is responsible for planning and preparing for shift transition to ensure seamless transition between shifts including clean up between shifts, materials staging, and maintenance/incidents reports.
- The Plant Manager is responsible for continuous documentation and communication around the production process including resources used, % defects, equipment or patterns maintenance required, product completed, and any other documentation identified by leadership.
- The Plant Manager is responsible to professionally utilize technology available to them including emails, phones, computers, and implement protocols including ERP software.
