PLANT MANAGER - HOOPESTON, IL
OVERVIEW:
Direct all plant operations, including production, maintenance, quality, safety, administration, warehouse, and sanitation. Manage operations to assure compliance with all regulatory agencies, setting a high standard of safety and directing operations in a cost-effective manner within company policies, objectives, and established budget guidelines.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Manage Plant to meet company budgets, capital expenditures, maintenance, and facilities spending.
- Measure and evaluate key performance and productivity targets against established standards and goals, including staffing levels. Lead efforts to optimize cost performance. Prepare quantitative analysis and make recommendations using Excel spreadsheets, where appropriate.
- Monitor the manufacture of all products to ensure in-full shipments within established lead times. Monitor sales forecasts and product shipments to establish and maintain proper inventory levels of raw materials and finished goods in the plant. Assure absolute accuracy of product shipments to customers.
- Hire, train, and develop staff at all levels within the plant. Demonstrate leadership by team building, conducting staff training and striving for continuous improvement in the operation.
- Lead the safety effort within the plant to ensure a safe workplace for all employees.
- Manage the plant to ensure complete compliance with all regulatory agencies, including local government agencies.
- Assure inventory accuracy of all raw materials, work in process, and finished goods products. Initiate actions for continuous improvements to warehouse operations in inventory control and material handling.
- Interface directly with Sales, Customer Service, Quality, and other appropriate company departments to ensure customer satisfaction and effective intra-company communication.
- Demonstrate computer proficiency to analyze productivity, cost measurements, and other analyses.
- Strive to develop and enhance the company’s image in the local community.
- Perform other assignments as directed by management.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
- Minimum five years of food industrial experience in Plant Management.
- Experience with labor unions and grievance and collective bargaining processes.
- Excellent report writing skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
- Excellent knowledge of food manufacturing processes and canning experience a plus.
- Excellent understanding of food safety.
- Excellent knowledge of using various statistical and analytical tools and fundamentals.
- Excellent understanding of financial drivers.
- Excellent relationship skills.
- · Excellent experience with government regulatory requirements in food processing.
- Excellent knowledge of SQF or related GFSI standards and auditing processes.
