About the Job
The Plant Manager is responsible for directing day-to-day manufacturing operations with P&L responsibility including production, scheduling, engineering, maintenance, purchasing and logistics. Adheres to local laws and regulations associated with managing the facility. Follows production and company objectives and coordinates activities of all operating departments to ensure facility is operating within long-term strategic plan and budget.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Directs production activities to meet sales objectives at maximum efficiency and minimum cost.
•Provide leadership on integration projects, i.e., MRP, QMS, OPEX.
•Actively involve in new product validation activities in conjunction with Technical Operations and Sales Teams.
•Oversee the preventive maintenance and capital expenditure program.
•Implements effective programs relative to environmental compliance.
•Develops action plans for efficient use of materials, machines, and facilities.
•Partners with site Human Resource Manager to ensure our cultural and engagement commitments are followed through on site level teams.
Requirements:
- Ability to lead, motivate, select, train and instruct personnel.
- Good interpersonal, organization and communication skills.
- Thorough understanding of production/extrusion process and manufacturing capabilities.
- Must demonstrate strong decision-making skills, sound judgment and the ability to adapt to a rapidly changing work environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in either business or engineering preferred and 10 years industry experience with at least 5 years senior supervisory experience in a role which afforded exposure to all areas of plant operations, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must be a self-motivated problem solver who will drive projects and people.
- Bi-lingual in Spanish/English language is Preferred.
- Experience with manufacturing of Medical Devices is required.
