Are you a leader with foundry experience looking for a new and exciting opportunity? Our foundry in Novi Michigan, is seeking a Plant Manager.
JOB SUMMARY:
The plant manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day flow of operations throughout the operations, including foundry, machine shop and pattern shop. They manage and direct all production and operation activity to ensure an efficient work environment. This position leads operations that are focused on lean as an enterprise solution and must model those behaviors in day-to-day activities. The Plant Manager is responsible for cross training, developing supervisors, and encouraging cohesive relationships between the operational functions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree, technical degree preferred.
Experience: 10 years in a manufacturing environment. 5 years in a management role of a similar sized facility. Foundry experience preferred.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Strong focus on EHS compliance and development.
- Manage operating and labor expenses to achieve profitability targets.
- Drive lean culture with a focus on continuous improvement and employee development.
- Mentor and develop staff using a supportive and collaborative approach: assign accountabilities; set objectives; establish priorities; and evaluate results.
- Create measures to routinely document, review, & trend process performance targets & misses.
- Optimize supply chain process, especially KanBan program.
- Reduce maintenance downtime by implementing & maintaining a TPM program.
- Teach and emphasize the use of cause analysis, root cause solutions, and connections with improved performance.
- Passionate about lean as an enterprise solution and model the behaviors doing Lean in one’s own work.
- Set clear written expectations, regularly uses a process to track and follow up on actual accomplishment of assigned tasks.
- Eager to empower others in the area through structured ways to elicit and implement their ideas.
- Teach and emphasize cause analysis, root cause solutions, and connections with improved performance.
- Plan, develop, organize, implement, and evaluate company short-term and long-term operational performance.
- Work with Human Resources to recruit, hire and handle employee problems / discipline when needed.
- Participate in business development activities.
- Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED:
- Strong knowledge of EHS regulations and best practices in a manufacturing environment.
- Proven track record of improving operational efficiency and managing budgets.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in data analysis and reporting tools.
- Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma certifications are a plus.
