PLANT OPERATIONS MANAGER
WHO WE ARE:
Our Client is a family-owned food manufacturing company with two locations in Mississippi. Our plant, in Pearl MS, produces a wide range of food sauces, including some of the best-known names in the world of competitive BBQ. The open plant manager role is an onsite position at our Pearl, MS facility.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
The plant manager will oversee production, receiving, processing, and sanitation activities of the plant. They will need to maintain direct relationships with Quality Assurance, Sales, Purchasing, Accounting, and Administration, to ensure complete continuity of operations while providing outstanding customer service. The plant manager is ultimately responsible for all facets of plant operations. As such, the ideal candidate will be comfortable shouldering responsibility, with a buck-stops-here attitude. They must be a multi-tasker, keeping track of all aspects of a dynamic production environment simultaneously.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operational
- Monitor stock of raw materials and finished products.
- Direct, control, and manage production departments and schedules to maintain plant efficiencies and standards.
- Maintain production areas in strict compliance with all regulatory agency standards.
- Review production records for accuracy and compliance with established standards.
- Monitor daily production report spreadsheets.
- Direct the activities of departmental managers to ensure maximum production efficiencies at minimum costs, without compromising service levels or quality standards.
- Monitor product yields and review production processes to implement new and/or additional standards to optimize profitability in production.
- Evaluate daily labor reports to optimize personnel assignments.
- Assume accountability for all aspects of plant performance, including food quality, food safety, warehouse compliance, training, shipping & receiving.
- Plan, develop, and implement operational policies and goals to ensure the organization operates at peak productivity and profitability
- Develop, implement, and monitor a management system for food safety policies, ensuring compliance with SQF standards and facility HAACP plan.
- Monitor and direct a facility sanitation program, ensuring compliance with SQF standards and facility HAACP plan.
- Conduct monthly food safety meetings and address any mechanical/food safety issues that arise in the production space.
- Provide input regarding the resolution of product safety and quality concerns.
- Conduct timely management meetings to ensure communications with all levels of management.
- Work with the Director of Operations to ensure good employee relations, a robust safety program, continual training, discipline, and proper staffing levels.
- Ensure all necessary information is communicated to proper personnel.
- Conduct yearly performance appraisals for all hourly production personnel.
- Collaborate with the Director of Operations to make staffing decisions, including hiring and firing.
- Review production paperwork for accuracy and compliance with company standards.
- Communicate openly, clearly, and directly with all employees
- Perform frequent inspections and audits of workflow processes
- Adhere to all city, state, federal, and company enforced policies, procedures, and regulations
- Self-motivated and team oriented, with strong communication skills
QUALIFICATIONS
10 Years of manufacturing experience
5 years of management experience

Salary: 100-125K Annual
