We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Plant Operations Manager to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be a hands-on, proactive professional with a strong background in the automotive industry. You will be responsible for driving operational excellence, implementing cost-saving initiatives, and driving continuous improvement in our manufacturing processes. This role will require a strategic thinker with a strong ability to manage changeovers, reduce startup time, and tackle high scrap rates. If you have a track record of driving efficiency and productivity in a manufacturing environment, we would love to hear from you. Multiple site experience is preferred.
Responsibilities:
1. Develop, implement, and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) for each area of responsibility.
2. Ensure the plant operations are running efficiently and effectively, meeting production schedules and targets.
3. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production quality, reduce waste, and increase throughput.
4. Implement cost reduction strategies and identify opportunities for cost savings.
5. Develop and implement robust health and safety policies, ensuring compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations.
6. Lead root cause analysis investigations and implement corrective actions.
7. Manage changeovers to reduce startup time and improve productivity.
8. Handle high scrap rates, identifying the causes and implementing effective solutions.
9. Coordinate with other departments and stakeholders to ensure operations are aligned with the overall company strategy.
10. Provide leadership, team development, and coaching to the operations team.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Management, or a related field.
2. Minimum of 15 years of experience in a managerial role within the manufacturing industry, preferably in the automotive sector.
3. Proven track record of implementing cost-saving initiatives and driving continuous improvement.
4. Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, health and safety regulations, and quality control standards.
5. Experience in managing changeovers and reducing startup times.
6. Ability to analyze high scrap rates and implement effective solutions.
7. Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to motivate and drive team performance.
8. Excellent problem-solving abilities and a strong understanding of root cause analysis.
9. Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
10. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
11. Experience managing multiple sites is preferred but not required.
