Position Summary:
The Plant Operations Trainer is primarily responsible for the training and development of all production associates. The Plant Operations Trainer will coordinate a training curriculum designed to increase retention, enhance colleague morale, and improve efficiency. The Plant Operations Trainer will have a key role in the implementation and stabilization of the AUTOKINITON Operating System (AOS), they will help facilitate Lean/Six Sigma projects such as Kaizen events, Eight Wastes and other problem solving initiatives. This will be done under the overall supervision of the Continuous Improvement Manager.
This full-time role is a part of our Elkton team and reports to the Continuous Improvement Team.
Experience:
·Mentor and coach new production associates to further develop competencies and career paths.
·Develops new and as needed improves upon existing training materials.
·Leads by example and models behaviors that are consistent with the company’s values.
·Assist with on-the-job training with new production associates including new hire orientation.
·Evaluates and determines training needs of production associates.
·Audits completed training and identified training gaps.
·Monitor training to ensure goals and expectations are being met.
·Review policy and procedures with all production associates.
·Works with management on creation of work standards and work instructions to insure they are accurate, understandable and follow company standards and / or processes.
·Meets regularly with management staff to ensure their support and involvement in training of associates.
·Continually seek to improve work processes.
·Trains associates to perform all duties and company procedures using required safety equipment (gloves, sleeves, ear plugs, etc.).
·Able and willing to work a flexible work schedule that may include adjusted start and end times.
·Participates in continuous improvement activities such as: AOS, 5S, Lean/Six Sigma projects, Kaizen events, Eight Wastes and other problem-solving initiatives.
·Assumes other duties as directed by supervisor.
Required Experience:
·Requires a Bachelor’s degree or 2-4 years equivalent experience related to continuous improvement, supervision, or workforce training & development.
·Ability to build rapport with a diverse range of associates while maintaining appropriate boundaries and accountability.
·Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
·Ability to adhere to all company policies and procedures in a professional and consistent manner.
·Able to apply common sense understanding and use appropriate judgment in routine business situations with supervisor, co-workers and customers.
·Effective oral and written communication skills.
·Display high level of professionalism and impeccable integrity and confidentiality.
·Microsoft Office experience.
·Presentation Skills preferred.
