We have a great opportunity for a Project Management/Engineering Intern to join the Wautoma, WI team. This is an internship that is full-time from. The shift for this position will be M-F, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. with the potential for occasional weekends and nights as needed.
The Project Management/Engineering Intern works closely with the Operations Leadership on various Project/Engineering tasks and projects. The responsibilities of the Project Manager/Engineering Intern vary based on assignments and location needs.

- As a part of the plant operations team, spend time in each area of the processing plant to develop a comprehensive understanding of each area and the processes driving production output and product quality.
- Study and improve manufacturing processes, procedures, and sequence of operations aimed at increasing productivity or lowering manufacturing costs. Aid in creating, implementing, and maintaining Standard Work for all production areas.
- Support the Regional Process Engineer and Plant Leadership with projects supporting operational efficiency and effectiveness as identified.
- Actively participate in design reviews, design changes and the development of projects as assigned.
- Have a continuous improvement mindset when spending time on the floor, finding quick wins, and completing projects as needed
- Prepare 2D and 3D design drawings using AutoCAD, Inventor, Revit and/or Plant 3D.
- Generate and prepare technical reports as assigned.
- Interpret and analyze data to make informed decisions. Collects data to determine effectiveness of implemented process improvements
- Present and discuss findings at multiple levels within the company including non-technical audiences
- Work closely with outside vendors to gather bids and provide an analysis to management to make vendor selection decisions.
- Assisting in equipment search. Spending time combing the internet for applicable plant equipment needs outlined by engineering/plant manager. Both new and used markets.
- Contacting equipment vendors on availability, purchase/lease capacities, lead times etc.…
- Assist with updating managing CAPEX spreadsheets/Gant charts.
- Assist with coordinating vendor visits/tours.
Preferred Education Requirements:
- Current Enrollment in an Engineering Associates or Bachelor’s Degree or other related program
- Overall GPA 3.0 or higher
- Read, understand, and discuss technical requirements, plans, drawings, etc.
- Proficiency using AutoCAD
- P&ID knowledge or experience preferred
- Possess a strong work ethic and an entrepreneurial spirit
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills and able to interact with all levels of the organization
- Strong Problem solving and analytical skills with attention to detail
- Eager to learn and challenge yourself; self-directed, detail oriented, reliable, and strong initiative
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite of products
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
- Previous manufacturing work experience is desired, but not required
- Ability to work flexible hours, to include days and occasional nights
