AGS is looking for a 2nd shift Plate Production Team Leader to join our dynamic organization. This role is located in our Sterling South plant .
JOB SUMMARY:
The Production team leader position is the right hand of the Production supervisor. This position is a "hands on" job that requires the individual to know the complete assembly, tear down and recovery processes. The team leader position is a working position and the team leader is expected to readily engage in the Production process in order to maintain the necessary line takt time, ensure product quality, and deliver the required number of pieces each day.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Safety
- Understands the AGS policies and procedures for operating a safe work environment and champions safety on their shift and with their crew.
- The team leader must understand and enforce all safety policies and procedures and allow zero tolerance for unsafe acts.
- The team leader must maintain a daily attendance roster and be able to verify the headcount on their shift and account for their personnel as requested or required.
- Understands and enforces plant rules and regulations as it pertains to employee conduct.
- Communicates openly and as necessary with the shift supervisor to keep the supervisor apprised of any issues during the shift that pertain to safety or employee conduct.
- Supports all environmental initiatives and directives as it pertains to Production activities.
Quality
- Demonstrates a working knowledge of each Production component and can readily identify component defects. Communicates component defects immediately to the shift supervisor.
- Has the ability to inspect an assembly, identify a defect, and determine the proper disposition of the assembly.
- Utilizes the proper elements of QSB and supports the quality process thru proper operator training and supervision.
- Able to finesse shells as required.
- Ensures that proper mutilation protection is used by all personnel and on all material handling racks as identified.
Productivity
- Has an understanding of the PLC control system and can program the line to start-up and operate.
- Able to troubleshoot basic line downtime issues as it relates to the control system.
- Assists the supervisor during pre-shift activities and ensures that all materials are available and line side for a rapid start-up.
- Has an intimate understanding of the bumper Production process and is proficient at each Production station.
- Has complete understanding of the HMI at each Production station and can operate each station thru the HMI as necessary.
- Understands the flow of materials to the line and ensures materials are available line side by working with the stock chasers and fork lift operators.
- Reports production data as required or requested (minimum hourly and at the end of the shift).
- Prepares the line for the next shift by ensuring it is working properly, stocked with material and is clean and orderly per 5S standards.
- Backup forklift driver; will be required to operate a forklift (we will train if no previous experience).
Leadership
- Displays maturity and self-confidence and commands the respect of the people on their team.
- Demonstrates strong leadership skills. Willing and able to ask for help as needed.
- Is punctual and demands the same of their team.
- Remains objective as a leader and does not develop personal friendships with team members which could impact their ability to perform their job.
- Is able to substitute for the Supervisor on occasion as required.
- Willing to learn and grow in the job.
EMPLOYEMENT REQUIREMENTS:
- 1-3 years experience
- High School Diploma or GED
- Must be able to read, write and speak English
- Must be able to stand for 8+ hours a day
- Must be able to lift 30+ pounds
- Able to operate a Forklift
- Have reliable transportation
- Must be able to use a computer to input defects and check/respond to email
- Must be able to work daily OT (before or after normal schedule/shift), and weekends.
