About the Team
The role is part of the New Product Introduction (NPI) team at Nutanix, located in the San Jose area. The team is composed of cross-functional professionals who focus on integrating innovative hardware and software solutions. With a culture that emphasizes collaboration, problem-solving, and flexibility, the NPI team aims to deliver high-quality products that meet the evolving needs of customers. Their mission is to ensure seamless hardware bring-up processes and successful project management throughout product development cycles.
You will report to the Senior Engineering Manager, Alex, who is known for his supportive leadership style and commitment to fostering professional growth within his team. Alex emphasizes the importance of communication, collaboration, and flexibility, encouraging team members to engage actively in problem-solving and project management. This role is fully on-site, and the candidate will be expected to work in the office consistently to facilitate effective collaboration with team members and vendors.
This role does not require any travel, as the candidate will be based in the San Jose area, allowing for efficient interaction with the team and local vendors as needed.
Your Role
+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to manage hardware and software integration projects effectively.
+ Oversee the hardware bring-up process during new product introduction phases to ensure successful outcomes.
+ Conduct testing and validation of hardware and software systems to meet performance standards.
+ Engage with vendors and internal teams to ensure timely progress and resolution of project challenges.
+ Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members, fostering a supportive and collaborative team environment.
+ Write and maintain comprehensive documentation related to system testing and hardware configurations.
+ Actively participate in project planning and status meetings to track progress and align resources.
+ Set and achieve objectives focused on enhancing problem-solving capabilities and project management within the team.
What You Will Bring
+ Strong knowledge of x86 architecture
+ Familiarity with Linux and open-source systems
+ Understanding of hardware and firmware development
+ Experience as a system engineer with project management skills
+ Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
+ Excellent communication and collaboration skills
+ Detail-oriented with good testing plan skills
+ Basic scripting skills, preferably in Python
The pay range for this position at the commencement of employment is expected to be between USD $ 148,800 and USD $ 296,000 per year.
However, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
