Job Title: PLC Maintenance Technician
Location: Richmond, VA
Duration: 6 months contract – possible extension based on performance
Shift timing: 7am to 3pm (must be flexible for weekends when needed).
Must have:
Purpose of role-ensure the efficient and reliable operation of high speed processing and packaging equipment. This includes troubleshooting, analyzing root causes, testing, installing and conducting all electrical repairs and preventative maintenance
Main Responsibilities
Qualifications:
Location: Richmond, VA

Must have:
- 3 yrs current experience in electrical and PLC diagnostics/programming.
- Must be a problem solver.
- Candidate who are comfortable in leadership role and/or responsibilities. In the future, this position will lead a team.
Purpose of role-ensure the efficient and reliable operation of high speed processing and packaging equipment. This includes troubleshooting, analyzing root causes, testing, installing and conducting all electrical repairs and preventative maintenance
- Support automation introduction at plants including integration, troubleshooting etc. to provide a wider network of resources that can deal with advancing automation.
- AC/DC Machinery and Motor controls Instrumentation and Process Controls Understand control system concepts as well as how they relate with critical IT infrastructure.
- Visualization Software: Shop Logix, SCADA, Mechanical Drives
- Rockwell Software: Studio 5000, Logix 5000, Logix 500, Connected Component Allen Bradley PLC and Panel View Allen Bradley PLC and ladder logic components
- Network Protocols: Ethernet IP, Modbus Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word. Proficient SAP user preferred. Ability to use technical knowledge and skills to identify, develop and implement process improvements and communicate results.
Main Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair production equipment in an industrial manufacturing environment
- Repair, maintain, and upgrade electrical equipment
- Read and understand wiring schematics
- Perform PLC troubleshooting and programming
- Experience using test equipment to troubleshoot electrical issues (Multimeter, megger, themography, etc...)
- Knowledge of industrial 3 phase equipment, controls, VFD drives, PLC and control devices (e.g. Allen Bradley, ABB, and Foxboro)
- Perform calibration of 4-20 mA instruments and other low voltage systems.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Completed an approved Apprenticeship or Training
- At least 4 years manufacturing experience
- Must be flexible to work weekends, and holidays as required
- Ability to work well in a team-based environment with limited supervision
- Ability to problem solve and help with practical solutions
