This position reports to our Engineering and Electrical department.

Responsibilities:The PLC Programmer position is responsible for the design, configuration and integration of complex control systems, with the focus on supporting and improving production equipment and automation. Provides implementation services as part of a project team.
Duties include:
- Prepare project scopes of work, preliminary design concepts, and cost estimates for projects
- Participates in gathering field data and preparing project specifications
- Design, develop, test, and support controls systems which include pneumatics, servos, VFD’s, relays, communication networks, touchscreens and pushbuttons.
- Program PLCs and HMI using SIMATIC Step 7 / TIA Portal / WinCC / Ignition programming software
- Create documentation such as user manuals, programming diagrams, network diagrams and electrical drawings
- Provide industrial electrical hands-on experience installing and troubleshooting, 480V 3-phase, 110 VAC, and 24VDC systems
- Ensure all relevant safety objectives are observed for all work completed
- Confirms equipment performance by conducting tests and final commissioning of equipment
- Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs
- Other duties as assigned.
Applicants should possess the following qualifications:
- Ability to effectively listen to, read, and understand information; accurately retains and retrieves information; relays clear and concise information in both written and oral form.
- 2 years formal training in the electrical field from a vocational school or greater
- Minimum 1 year experience in Industrial Automation/Control Systems
- Advanced computer skills
- Familiarity with electrical engineering design standards, including NEC, NFPA, and UL standards
- Fluent in electrical schematics and related machine diagrams
- Proficient in troubleshooting/specifying/installing electrical machine tool hardware, including: servos, motors, Variable Frequency Drives, DC drives, and standard electrical components
- Familiarity with panel wiring and electrical assembly of PLCs, PLC components, HMIs etc.
- Ability to interpret and understand policies, procedures, electrical schematics and relate them to others
- Knowledge of AutoCAD/AutoCAD Electrical design software
- Demonstrated focus on safety and quality.
