We are seeking seasoned PMO Build Consultants with experience in assessing,building, and optimizing PMOs across diverse industries. This role requires a strategic thinker with a comprehensive understanding of project management principles and methodologies. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in project management, with hands-on experience establishing and leading purpose-driven PMOs as well as demonstrated expertise in various PMO frameworks-such as Agile, Waterfall, and Hybrid models. Your Key Responsibilities:
As a PMO Build Consultant, your responsibilities will focus on helping organizations build, restructure, or optimize their PMO function to drive measurable improvements in project delivery and governance. Key duties include:
- PMO Assessment and Strategy Development: Conduct an in-depth analysis of the client's current Project Management capabilities and needs through interviews and workshops. Collaborate with stakeholders to design a tailored PMO strategy that aligns with their business goals and objectives.
- PMO Setup and Implementation: Lead the setup or transformation of a PMO, including defining its purpose, structure, processes, tools, and governance frameworks. This could involve implementing methodologies like Agile, Scrum, or Waterfall, or integrating hybrid models as needed.
- Resource Capacity Planning and Allocation: Gap analysis and allocation of existing resources. Identify and define existing and new PMO Resource needs, Roles and Responsibilities, and Reporting Structure. Provide budget/compensation guidance for new resources when required. Assist clients in defining job descriptions and be willing to participate in the screening process.
- Change Management: Facilitate a smooth transition by guiding teams through the change management processes. Engage key stakeholders and project managers to ensure the new PMO framework is adopted and sustained, providing training and support as necessary.
- Tool and Technology Integration: Identify and implement project management tools that enhance visibility, communication, and efficiency. Ensure that these tools are fully aligned with the new PMO processes and the organization's broader technology stack.
- Best Practices and Continuous Improvement: Promote the use of industry best practices in project management and governance, fostering a culture of continuous improvement within the PMO. Support the client in refining processes as the organization grows and scales.
- Coaching & Mentoring: Design and deliver training programs, provide mentorship to team members and foster continuous development to enhance Project Management skills and performance.

Qualifications:
- 5+ years establishing and/or leading PMOs responsible for the delivery of diverse Project Portfolios.
- Ability to effectively conduct PMO assessments and provide actionable recommendations to client stakeholders.
- Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid, PRINCE2, etc.).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively manage and communicate with PMO stakeholders.
- Experience in change management and driving organizational transformation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Certifications such as PMP, ACP, CSM, PRINCE2, and/or OCM are a strong plus.
Desired Skills:
- Ability to lead and influence large-scale PMO initiatives.
- Strong understanding of PMO frameworks, governance, risk management, and compliance requirements.
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with detailed execution.
- Experience working across diverse industries and project portfolios.
Consulting Opportunities: Contract
Average Pay Range: $75-$95 / hour
