SUMMARY OF DUTIES: | ||
This position serves the needs of the community by enforcing federal, state, and local laws and ordinances. In addition, this position performs patrol functions, makes investigations and arrests suspects, provides assistance to citizens, controls traffic, and responds to other emergencies. At the discretion of the supervisor, this position will present crime prevention programs and performs special assignments.

Recruitment/Selection Process:
Step 1: Complete and Submit an online application
This position is open until filled with first review of applications on November 15, 2024. Qualified candidates will be notified by e-mail that they are eligible to test. The application may be obtained on the City of Richmond website www.richmondtx.gov
Step 2: Informational Meeting and Written Exam (Applicants will be notified of the next testing date)
Report on the date, time, and location for the written Exam. (No late entry to testing location). The passing score is 70% or higher in each section.
Step3: Preliminary Interview
Step 4: Oral Interview Board (Same day as a written test)

Step 5: Personal History Statement
Applicants will prepare all required documentation needed to accompany (Their personal History Statement (TCOLE) and submit it no later than TBA (Date and Time).
Step 7: Personal History Statement (TCOLE) and Background Review
TBA (Date and Time).
Step 8: Interview with Police Chief
TBA (Date and Time).
Final Steps: Conditional Job Offer, Psychological Examination, pre-employment physical, controlled substance screening, and Firearm Qualification
