Position Summary: Shifts 2nd and 3rd. must train on 1st shift for min 90 days 8-4 on 1st shift
Milacron is looking for a Polisher to join our team in McPherson, KS.
$20 per hour, Shift differential when working 2nd or 3rd
As a Polisher you will be responsible for…
Work You’ll Do:
- Verify correct product using job traveler to set-up and operate a variety of machinery to blueprint specifications, reading part drawing with sectional views.
- Achieve specified micro finishes; polish to form sharp corners, hold specified limits on I.D. using deburring tools with special cutters on a variety of production parts.
- Work independently; assist and train less experienced machinists to maintain plant standards in areas of safety, quality, delivery, cost, 5S, housekeeping, teamwork, and attendance.
- Operate job-specific hand tools to manually grind and polish screws to specified measurements.
- Monitor inventory levels and report low levels and discrepancies to supervisor.
- Demonstrate personal leadership; actively participate in or lead problem solving and continuous improvement efforts, recommend improvements for area product and processes.
- Demonstrate flexibility when confronted with high stress or emergency situations, priority changes, or new assignments.
Team:
A team of approximately 20 polishers working during all 3 shifts.
Basic Qualifications:
- 1+ year of related experience or training: or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED is preferred
- Technical school w/ certificate is preferred
- Dependable, honest, quick learner, good communication skills and team player
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including any days, shift, and weekends to ensure that the customer demand is met
- Ability to perform and interpret computer and RF functions
- Ability to learn new skills at a fast pace
- Basic computer skills
