Location: Spokane, WA
Trusted Staffe is partnering with a leading Level III trauma center in Spokane, WA, to find a highly skilled and compassionate Polysomnographic Technologist to join their team. This position offers an opportunity to contribute your expertise in sleep study technology and provide critical care to patients of all ages.
Hiring Bonus: Up to $10,000 for eligible external hires who meet the required qualifications and conditions for payment.
Relocation Assistance: Can be provided.
Position Summary
In this role, you will be responsible for conducting sleep studies, monitoring patient's cardiopulmonary systems during sleep, and assisting in diagnosing and treating sleep disorders. You will work collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care and support to patients. The position requires initiative, critical thinking, and the ability to interpret and apply protocols in various situations.
Responsibilities:
- Perform polysomnographic (PSG) and other sleep studies according to physician orders and departmental protocols.
- Prepare patients for sleep studies, including applying electrodes, sensors, and other monitoring devices.
- Monitor and record patients' physiological data during sleep studies, including brain waves, eye movements, muscle activity, heart rate, and breathing patterns.
- Analyze and interpret sleep study data to identify potential sleep disorders.
- Educate patients and families on sleep hygiene and treatment options.
- Maintain and calibrate sleep study equipment.
- Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols.
Required Qualifications:
- Education: Completion of an accredited Polysomnographic Technology program (e.g., ASTEP) or equivalent education and experience.
- Certification:
- National Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) - Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT)
- OR National Certified Polysomnographic Technician (CPSGT) - BRPT
- OR National Sleep Disorders Specialty (SDS) - National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
- BLS: National Provider BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
- Experience: 2 years of recent experience in Sleep Study technology.
