Our Maintenance Technician Responsibilities:
The Maintenance Technician must ensure that clients are serviced with the highest standard of quality while maximizing efficiency and productivity and upholding regulations for treating ponds and lakes.
Working under the direct supervision of the Regional Manager, this is a field-based position functioning that is integral to the smooth and profitable execution of work in the field. While each project is different, the technician's responsibilities encompass the following:
- Identify and treat invasive weeds.
- Visual inspection of pond components.
- Mow and weed-eat sites.
- Minor repairs for compliance.
- Improving the overall aesthetics of the sites.
- Drive and maintain a company vehicle
- Manage your daily schedule
- Take photos
- Write reports and as may be required
- Assist with training team members with a strong emphasis on proper safety procedures
What you need
- Background and experience in lake/pond maintenance, landscaping, pesticide application
- Must possess an Aquatic Pesticide Applicator License or be able to obtain a license within 30 days of hire
- Knowledge of aquatic maintenance techniques is preferred.
- Experience in lake and pond management, pest/herbicide control or surveying is preferred.
- Experience in the following disciplines are desirable: fisheries, wildlife management, conservation, ecology, biology, environmental sciences or forestry.
- Possesses a current driver's license and good driving record
- Familiarity with the techniques and equipment used in lake and pond management and repairs.
- Willing to work in different types of weather conditions.
- Able to swim.
- Capable of heavy lifting 75 pounds
- Extensive walking on flat and sloped land.
- Extensive travel daily throughout the assigned region
- Ability to trailer and operate a skiff and UTV.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to interface with a variety of people including clients and other team members.
- Proficiency in mobile apps is a plus.
- Ability to work independently.
- Mechanically inclined.
- Possesses basic math skills for purposes of calculating appropriate levels of product applications.
- Occasional travel may be required.
- Ability to work independently and with the team.
