JOB SUMMARY
To ensure a safe environment for patients, personnel and visitors to the Hospital. To maintain a clean and orderly hospital physical plant and grounds. Supports the philosophy, objectives and goals of Houston Physicians Hospital.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school graduate or equivalent
- (1) one year experience in institutional cleaning
OCCUPATIONAL EXPOSURE
Category I exposure to bloodborne pathogens, frequent exposure to chemical hazards and may encounter radiation hazards.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for handling of all trash in and outside Hospital. Will bag in appropriate bags and follow established guidelines for infectious waste and disposal.
- Follows proper procedures regarding exposure to Category I tasks.
- Follows proper procedures for handling hazardous waste materials.
- Responsible for transport of dirty linen in the Hospital.
- Ability to follow written or oral instructions. Ability to work well with others, present a neat appearance and pleasant manner.
- Takes on additional duties as asked by the Facilities Manager or Lead.
- Responsible for requesting housekeeping supplies from the Facilities Manager or Lead.
- Informs Facilities Manager of any noted malfunctions of equipment.
- Assists in stocking Housekeeping supplies.
- Able to perform minor maintenance needs such as, replace light bulbs, unstop toilets, change ceiling tile.
- Able to work around and use cleaning chemicals
- Assists in maintaining all restrooms in the hospital and stocks supplies needed such as soap, paper towels, and toilet paper.
- Vacuum all carpeted areas as needed.
- Cleans all windows on an as needed basis.
- Will follow scheduled cleaning duties as outlined in guidelines.
- Ability to operate safely, Leaf Blower, rake, shovel, Shears and any other grounds maintenance tools needed.

- The employee must be able to lift and/or carry over 20 pounds on a regular basis and be able to push/pull over 25 pounds on a regular basis.
