We are currently seeking a passionate English as a Second Language (ESL) Teacher to join our school for the current academic year. This full-time position offers an exciting opportunity to support English Language Learners (ELL) in achieving their academic goals while enhancing their language development.
About the Role:
As an ESL Teacher, you will play a crucial role in providing tailored instruction to students from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds. You’ll work collaboratively with other teachers to ensure English language development is integrated across various subjects, helping students succeed in both academic and social environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and deliver engaging ESL lessons aligned with state standards.
- Provide individualized and small-group instruction to meet the diverse needs of ELL students.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to support English language development across content areas.
- Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies to support ongoing language acquisition.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student confidence and success.
Requirements
A valid Illinois PEL with an ESL endorsement is required. Proven experience as an ESL Teacher or similar role. Experience working with students from diverse language backgrounds. A Bachelor’s degree in a related field; a Master’s degree in TESOL or a related discipline is a plus.
