About the Job
The Document Specialist on the Post Closing team will ensure all closing documents are received, executed and appropriately delivered to custodians and other storage facilities. They will all be responsible for ensuring compliance with Lakeview and investor guidelines. This role is critical to ensuring that the Note, Security Instrument, title policy and other legal documents are are complete, accurate, and secured in compliance with the government an investor regulations and requirements. This hybrid role requires on-site work in our Horsham, PA office a few times per week.
Responsibilities:- Manage and clear all Warehouse collateral exceptions.
- Manage and clear all GNMA/FNMA/FHLMC custodial collateral exceptions.
- Ensure all imaged, executed closing package documents are uploaded to Encompass daily.
- Work with title vendors and other stakeholders to correct defective documents.
- Work with vendors to track and procure final title policies and recorded security instruments missing after the expected receipt date.
- Compile files and documents as requested by internal and external parties for loans sales and audits.
- Complete Release Request from Custodian as needed.
- Monitor and handle all requests sent to the Post-Close Notary Mailbox
- Manage the Iron Mountain document storage process for CD Channels
- Other duties as needed or required by management.
- Knowledge and recognition of residential mortgage loan documentation for Conventional, FHA, VA, and USDA loans
- Prior experience at title company, mortgage document custodian a strong plus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Strong attention to detail, excellent organization skills, and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
- Ability to work overtime as needed.
- Residential mortgage experience strongly preferred.
