The postdoctoral position will be awarded on a competitive basis to an individual who has completed a doctoral degree program (MD, PhD, DrPH, ScD, DNP, DO, or equivalent) and has demonstrated commitment and interest to health research. The ideal candidate will have a keen career interest in any of the following areas of relevance to the C3 Lab: trauma and acute care, global health, military medicine, clinical trials, injury epidemiology, and/or health in resource-limited settings. The fellow will collaborate and contribute to ongoing research within the C3 Lab as a core part of the experiential postdoctoral experience, but will also have an opportunity to take primary ownership of other project(s) within the C3 Lab. For all projects, there will be intensive mentoring and supervision offered, other experienced study investigators in the C3 Lab, and research faculty in the Department of Emergency Medicine. The specific content of the fellowship will be tailored to meet the training goals and career objectives of the fellow. Additionally, the Department of Emergency Medicine offers several research mentorship and research career development opportunities for postdocs, including EM-STIM (a monthly scientist training and intensive mentoring program around grant development), research journal clubs, access to experienced independent research mentors in a diversity of fields, and research fellowship didactic curricula. Last, the University of Colorado generally provides a robust program of seminars and other research learning and teaching opportunities for postdoctoral scholars, including Dissemination and Implementation Science and biostatistics short courses.
