Job Description: | A Post-doctoral Associate position in proteomics is available for a chemist/chemical biologist to work on a research project, “Biological Functions of Glycolipids,” led by Dr. Zhongwu Guo in the Department of Chemistry. This position in our group works on: (1) sequencing and proteomics studies to reveal how DNA damages contribute to cancer and aging-related diseases, and (2) proteomics and lipidomics studies to disclose how GSLs correlate with aging related diseases such as Alzheimer’s disease. We are looking for an individual with a strong skillset in the areas of molecular biology, proteomics and/or lipidomics, sequencing, bioinformatics, and synthetic chemistry. The functions will include conducting research, generating publications, contributing to grants and progress reports, and mentoring junior personnel in the lab. Successful candidates must have a PhD in chemistry/chemical biology. This position will be initially awarded for one year, and, contingent upon strong performance and conduct and availability of funds, may be renewed for up to two years.
