Postdoctoral Associate | Laboratory of Genetically Encoded Small Molecules - Rockefeller University

Organization Overview:Researchers in the Laboratory of Genetically Encoded Small Molecules are working on projects related to the human microbiome, bacterial small molecules, and host-microbial interactions. The lab's research is focused on identifying bacterial genes, pathways, and molecules that influence host-cellular functions and developing these host-microbial interactions into novel treatments for human disease. To this end, we focus on three major areas of research: 1) high throughput screening of bacterial metabolites and genes to identify effector functions, 2) mouse models of inflammatory and metabolic diseases, and 3) in vivo validation of bacterial metabolites and genes in human cohorts.Position Summary :The Laboratory of Genetically Encoded Small Molecules at The Rockefeller University has an immediate opening for a synthetic/peptide chemist. The focus of the research will be on the chemical synthesis of natural product like small molecule structures.Position Responsibilities:

Position Qualifications:

PhD in synthetic chemistry is required. Top candidates should have a strong publication record and/or extensive research experience in synthetic chemistry.  The ideal candidate will show a willingness to work in an interdisciplinary environment with a diverse team of scientist.
