Job Purpose: Power Distribution Electricians are responsible for safely installing, testing, and maintaining industrial electrical equipment (Up to 138 KV) and control systems
What You Will Do
- Duties could include, but are not limited to installing, connecting, maintaining, and troubleshooting:
- Low, medium, and high voltage breakers,
- Switchgear, transformers, substations, high voltage gas circuit breakers, air switches, and outdoor switchgear,
- High voltage cable,
- Protective devices and relays,
- DC battery, charger stations, inverters, and UPS systems,
- Following procedures-this includes field use, review, revise, and development of procedures,
- Working knowledge of Power DB,
- Working knowledge of NFPA-70E.
Required Qualifications:
- A current, valid US driver's license.
- Willing and able to work on a 4-10 schedule with occasional overtime as dictated by business needs.
- Participates in an after-hour call rotation for night and weekend coverage. Strong initiative, teamwork, and technical capabilities.
- This role includes the ability to utilize functional, technical knowledge, company standards and educational background or experience to analyze and solve problems.
- Able to work in outside environment.
- 5 years industrial maintenance experience or Associate degree in electrical technology
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Minimum of 5 years industrial experience troubleshooting industrial utilization electrical equipment in a refinery, petrochemical or process plant.
- Electrical training (apprenticeship, certificate, journeyman license, etc)
- Valid US driver's license
- Willing and able to work on a 4-10 schedule with occasional overtime as dictated by business needs
- Willing and able to participate in an after-hours call rotation for night and weekend coverage
- Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
What Will Put You Ahead
- Associate's degree in electrical technology (or related field) or Electrical engineering degree.
- Supervision experience in a refinery, petrochemical, process plant or military experience.
- Working knowledge of NFPA-70E
This role is subject to the Transportation Workers Identification Credentialing (TWIC) rule and requires the successful candidate to obtain a TWIC identification badge, allowing for un-escorted access to the facility within a specific time period.
