We are seeking a highly skilled Power Platform Developer Lead to spearhead Strategic Investment Management (SIM) tooling services for the Executive Director's Office (EDO). The EDO is a pivotal component of the SIM office, focusing on supporting VHA's health IT needs through effective business transformation and change management.
Job Summary:
The Power Platform Developer Lead will be responsible for implementing and managing tooling solutions that leverage the Microsoft Ecosystem to improve data management and business processes. This role requires extensive experience in program management, tooling, and automation, with a strong focus on Microsoft technologies such as SharePoint, Dynamics 365, Power Platform Suite, Power Query, Dataflows, Azure DevOps, GitHub, and cloud resources. The ideal candidate should have a deep understanding of Microsoft Infrastructure, Dataverse, environments, and the interconnectivity of applications and tools within the Microsoft ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Management:
- Lead and manage SIM tooling services for the EDO, ensuring all initiatives align with VHA's strategic goals and business needs.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to team members, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
- Tool Development & Implementation:
- Design, develop, and implement tooling solutions using Microsoft Power Platform products (Power BI, Power Automate, Power Apps) to streamline business processes and enhance data management.
- Leverage Dataverse and manage environments to ensure optimal interconnectivity between applications and tools within the Microsoft ecosystem.
- Understands the workflows and applications, utilizing Power Pages, Liquid, HTML, and JavaScript to meetpossible future organizational needs. And to potentially align with Azure services for any future cloud-based resources and operations.
- Project Coordination:
- Utilize Azure DevOps to coordinate various tooling activities, ensuring efficient workflow and resource allocation.
- Implement GitHub or other Microsoft resources to manage and coordinate tooling development projects.
- Employ project management tools to monitor project progress, ensuring transparency, accountability, and timely delivery.
- Reporting & Communication:
- Provide regular updates and comprehensive reports to executive leadership, highlighting key achievements, potential risks, and opportunities for improvement.
- Maintain clear and effective communication channels between the EDO, VHA IT funding oversight, and other federal entities.
- Strategic Support:
- Support the EDO in evaluating business needs and ensuring alignment with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and other federal entities.
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies and best practices within the Microsoft ecosystem to continually enhance tooling services.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
- Experience:
- Minimum of [X] years of experience in program management with a focus on tooling and automation.
- Proven experience with the Microsoft ecosystem, including SharePoint, Dynamics 365, Power Platform Suite, Power Query, Dataflows, Azure DevOps, GitHub, and cloud resources.
- Extensive experience in developing and implementing solutions using Microsoft Power Platform products.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Infrastructure, Dataverse, environments, and understanding the interconnectivity of applications and tools.
- Experience with Power Pages, Liquid, HTML, and JavaScript for developing cloud-based resources and operations.
- Skills:
- Strong understanding of data management, business processes, and strategic decision-making tools.
- Excellent project management skills with proficiency in using Azure DevOps and GitHub.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with federal regulations and standards is a plus.
- Certifications:
- Relevant Microsoft certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Developer Associate, Microsoft Certified: Azure Developer Associate) are highly desirable.
