Power Service Engineer
Job Description: Support The Mt Clemens site in the area of electrical distribution equipment, HVAC, Utilities, sustainability and reliability. This role will be to support reliability improvement in particular as it is related to mechanical integrity and quality assurance (MIQA) and is aligned with Performance Coatings PSM, M&R, Electrical, Instrument, and sourcing objectives and standard practices. This role will also support the project design team in new projects, front end loading, design and commissioning.
Job Scope:
This person will be responsible for the following:

Maintaining technical knowledge of 13.2kV, 4.16kV and 480V switchgear, protective relay application and testing, 480V motor control centers and motors, 120VAC uninterruptible power systems. Lead site electrical safety team and maintain site arch-flash analysis.

Daily support powerhouse utility equipment, including but not limited to HVAC, Steam generation, High temperature hot water, Hot oil etc..

Project development for repair/replacement of HVAC, and powerhouse related equipment.

Implement MIQA best practices. Track, document, and communicate MIQA and associated M&R metrics.

Developing predictive and preventive maintenance procedures to insure improved equipment reliability.

Providing follow-up on electrical equipment failures, determining root cause and identifying actions to prevent recurrence.

Providing hands on assistance to Electrical and Instrumentation Technicians with troubleshooting instrumentation problems including system calibration.

Assisting in developing capital project programs for new equipment and major repairs.
Minimum Job Requirements:
This individual must have a good working knowledge of maintenance, reliability, and MIQA best practices. This person must have the organizational capability to work in multiple areas of the site, supply chains, and systems and be able to communicate well/influence with operators, control mechanics, peers, and leadership. They must be able to lead multiple improvement teams in multiple areas and network with appropirate networks to maintain a strong connect to technical organizations.

BS in electrical, mechanical engineering or related engineering field.

10 years or more of work experience in the design, repairs, maintenance, reliability, failure modes, and/or inspection of chemical process equipment.

Maintenance, reliability, MIQA, and PSM best practices.

Must be self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Electrical technologies such as MCC's, VFD's, NEMA Motors ; Instrument technologies such as DCS's, control valves, thermal oxidizers

Team leadership skills.

Appropriate OSHA, NFPA, NEC, engineering standards, etc.

Good written and oral communication skills.

Interpersonal, people development and training skills

Ability to work as a team member in a respectful manner in a diverse work environment

Facilities engineering processes, principles, and maintenance & reliabiliity functional excellence capability.

Reliability tools such as RCFA, FMEA, Weibul analysis, statistical analysis, etc.

Software systems such as SAP PM, Nexus, Meridium, UPbase, SKM Electrical Systems Analysis, Microsoft Office tools.
