PPG is seeking to bring on a Construction Project Manager for various projects throughout the US.
PRIMARY FUNCTION
The Construction Project Manager will develop, plan, and execute all aspects of the contractual requirements of a large-scale construction project(s) in excess of $500M all-the-while maintaining alignment with the company’s policies, procedures, and mission statement. Provide on-site management, direction, and acceptance of responsibility of assigned projects.

The Construction Project Manager will develop, plan, and execute all aspects of the contractual requirements of a large-scale construction project(s) in excess of $500M all-the-while maintaining alignment with the company’s policies, procedures, and mission statement. Provide on-site management, direction, and acceptance of responsibility of assigned projects.
TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Establish and carry out project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards within the boundaries of corporate policy and mission statement.
- Supervise construction management and ensure proper coordination of all field activities and resource usage.
- Support and carry out the Company's strategic plan, goals and ideas including level of quality, safety, housekeeping, client relations, subcontractor relations and general attitude and impression of the company.
- Build project teams – Assist to fill key field staff positions through coordination with department heads.
- Perform initial post-award periodical contract review as required.
- Oversee the development, implementation and overall management of the Project Execution Plan and Quality Management System.
- Approve all QA/QC Procedures/Plans/Work Instructions for implementation on site.
- Primary contact for client, subcontractors, vendors, and A/E Contracts.
- Monitor and control construction through administrative direction of on-site construction supervision to ensure project is built safely on schedule, within budget and in compliance with specifications.
- Represent Company during client, subcontractor, and vendor meetings.
- Facilitate project strategy and planning, status, and progress meetings.
- Submit progress reports as per contractual requirements.
- Intercede as necessary in all aspects of project to ensure the Company's goals are maintained.
- Provide oversight and input into the development of the project schedule, review periodic updates with scheduler and site construction managers and ensure the construction and contractual requirements of the schedule are met.
- Have a thorough knowledge of the plans, specifications, schedule, and budget.
- Develop and implement motivational techniques with supervision to accelerate project, as necessary. Implement rewarding and/or disciplinary action and accountability when necessary.
- Prepare and submit daily/weekly project status updates to Project Sponsor and coordinate input from site managers.
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by corporate executives.
Position Reports to: Project Director
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
- Must possess a four-year engineering or business degree or equivalent combinations of training and/or experience.
- Must have a minimum of 15 years project management of large complex EPC projects.
- Must have strong customer relationship experience.
- Must be able to apply innovative and effective management techniques to maximize employee performance.
- Must have thorough understanding of corporate and industry practices, processes, standards, etc.
- Requires thorough knowledge of construction discipline responsibilities and divisions, union agreements, cost control, scheduling, safety regulations, engineering and any other aspect required to perform in position.
- The ability to supervise is essential.
- Must possess the necessary leadership skills that will enable effective performance in this position.
- Significant business skill and tact is required. Must be a “business first” oriented person.
