About the Job
Orrick’s Public Finance group is currently seeking a forward-thinking, hardworking and personable Practice Assistant to join our San Francisco office. In this role, you will support public finance projects that promote economic development and infrastructure and provide public benefit.
Responsibilities:
What Type of work will I be performing? You will play an integral role on client transactions, working directly with Orrick attorneys and project managers on assignments such as:
- Drafting and revising legal documents, resolutions, opinions and closing certificates;
- Assisting in the preparation of disclosure documents;
- Coordinating publication of public hearing notices;
- Interacting with state and federal agencies to file public finance forms;
- Generate signature pages and assist with distributing, tracking execution status, and compiling completed signature pages; and
- Finalizing deal transcripts and filing executed documents on cloud-based storage platform.
- Strong academic background (bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required) and interest in transactional legal work;
- One to three years of practical work experience preferred (law firm setting preferred although not required) and willingness to learn;
- Strong verbal and written communication skills;
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills;
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and in groups; and
- Experience coordinating multiple tasks concurrently.

Compensation and Benefits
The expected salary range for this position is between $42,000 to $60,000
Orrick is committed to providing a comprehensive, competitive, and thoughtful total compensation package to our attorneys and staff, wherever they work. This compensation and benefits information is based on the Orrick’s estimate as of the date of publication and may be modified in the future. The level of pay within the range will depend on a variety of job-related factors that may include, but not limited to, qualifications, relevant experience or education, particular skills or expertise, geography. Other compensation may include an annual discretionary merit bonus, which would be determined by Firm and individual performance.
