Mabbett & Associates, Inc. (Mabbett®), an award-winning and industry leading environmental, health and safety (EH&S) consulting and engineering firm, is seeking a Practice Lead – Environmental Compliance. Reporting to the VP, Environmental, Health & Safety, this role will be responsible for the day-to-day execution of the environmental compliance and related technical service activities, which include large federal projects, as well as the development and implementation of the practices business development activities based on the growth-oriented goals and objectives established by the firm.
Responsibilities:
This leadership position is ideal for candidates with an entrepreneurial spirit and who work successfully in collaborative teams. This is a hands-on position that will also involve some travel for projects and marketing and business development activities. The successful candidate will respond to client requests, prepare scopes of work and cost estimates/proposals, manage projects and prepare and/or review technical reports for quality assurance and control, as well as manage other project deliverables.
Essential functions include:
- Lead the Environmental Compliance Practice Area and serve as a Project Manager for certain high value projects.
- Serve as a key manager and technical consultant with the firm and provide senior project management and technical consulting services to various clients.
- Responsible for supporting the development and implementation of selected marketing and business development programs to grow the practice area.
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the firm’s environmental compliance practice area.
- Provide senior level QA/QC.
- Supervise, mentor, develop, and train selected Mabbett staff.
Location:
This position is based out of the firm’s Corporate Headquarters located in Stoneham, MA office or in our Alexandria, VA office.
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental sciences, engineering, environmental law, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive environmental compliance consulting experience including, regulatory compliance, program development, compliance auditing, and management systems.
- Professional certifications such as Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM), ISO 14001 Lead Auditor, Toxics Use Reduction Planner (TURP), Qualified Environmental Professional (QEP), etc. are highly desired.
- Direct and progressive experience working in the environmental compliance field for a consulting and engineering firm with demonstrated ability to successfully manage and mentor environmental compliance staff members.
- Diverse environmental compliance and strong project management experience in hospitals, life sciences, manufacturing, and/or federal government projects.
- Demonstrated results-oriented marketing and business development experience.
- Dedication to the growth of the firm’s environmental practice area and comfortable leading prospect meetings and preparing proposals.
- Exceptional leadership, organizational, interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Must be able to successfully prioritize, organize and manage multiple projects and work assignments concurrently.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office® products.
- U.S. Citizenship and ability to pass Federal security clearance background check.
Desired (but not required):
- Master’s degree.
- Active U.S. Federal Government security clearance.
- Experience preparing and winning federal environmental compliance and related proposals.
