Summary of the position:
The Practice Manager (PM) leads the implementation and administration of overall operational initiatives under the direction of the Vice President of Operations. Creates value and strategic advantage throughout the assigned region, or identified practice location/s, to ensure that patient volume, practice site efficiencies, compliance, and employee and patient satisfaction objectives are met. The PM is responsible for managing all the day-to-day leadership and operational aspects within his/her assigned practice/s and works in collaboration with other PMs and the VP to achieve the region and organizational revenue and expense objectives as compared to budget. The PM ensures compliance and adherence to all aspects of corporate ethics and corporate compliance, including all regulatory, credentialing, and licensing requirements within the assigned practice/s.
Responsibilities:Responsibilities of the position:
- Supports clinic team members to provide excellent service
- Creates a positive work environment and handles grievances as necessary
- Evaluates, manages and coordinates to ensure staffing is: appropriate, meets budget requirements, supports efficient flow and supports practitioner provision of care.
- Reviews and manages financial statements to maximize productivity and enhance revenue
- Partners with DOO and Senior Leadership to assess and enhance the business of the practice(s) through implementation of strategy and new programs
- Facilitates the implementation of care pathways in conjunction with clinical team
- Follows, monitors, knows, educates and holds others accountable to administrative policies and procedures
- Ensures and monitors HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality
- Ensures compliance with HRSA Requirements for FQHCs, HIPAA, OSHA & other regulatory agencies; keeping abreast of new developments with all health care related agencies
- Performs other work related duties
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Health Services Administration or related field with a minimum of five years of experience in a medical practice and/or dental practice environment.
Desired Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Knowledge of clinical policies and procedures, standards and regulations, ability to analyze problems and make decisions in line with Joint Commission standards, state and federal regulations and Centers for Disease control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines
- Knowledge of the essential administrative functions of a medical clinic to include administrative, clinical and financial aspects and CPT and ICD coding
- Demonstrated ability to evaluate, improve, document and implement processes for efficient and highly service oriented practice operations
- Formulation/implementation of policies/protocols and objectives to support processes for efficient practice operations
- Skill in basic computer and keyboarding skill and have the ability to enter data within company’s computer system
- Demonstrated ability in leadership and ability to exercise sound independent judgment in appraising situations and making decisions
- Demonstrated ability to communicate and develop a team environment focused on continuous improvement
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced environment under stressful situation
