About the Job
As a Practice Manager, you will assume responsibility for the day-to-day regional operations of multiple service lines in the physician group practice. Includes but is not limited to: Primary Care, Cardiology, General Surgery, Bariatric Surgery & Weight Management/Nutritional Counseling. Also oversees hospital based Ambulatory Clinics including but not limited to Ortho-Trauma Clinic, MFM Clinic, GI clinic, and Outpatient COVID Testing. Reports to and collaborates with the Director of Community Medical Associates and communicates with other ancillary departments to maintain excellence in patient care. Responsibilities include overseeing & monitoring the performance of operations managers & support staff, assisting the Director with development and coordination of departmental programs and establishment of departmental objectives, policies, and procedures.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Takes positive steps to assure that department and hospital objectives are carried out by adhering to all organization policies, procedures and best practice standards.
- Maintains open lines of communication with staff and senior management including scheduling regular meetings at various levels of the organization.
- Develops and coordinates process and functional improvement processes. Collects data on initiatives and provides outcome measure reports on success.
- Closely monitors clinics analytics to optimize productivity, patient volume and staffing levels.
- Performs Human Resources functions such as recruit, interview, discipline, oversees new employee orientation, ensures completion of all employee reviews.
- Works with Marketing department and clinics to oversee marketing and social media campaigns to drive referrals and meet volume goals.
- Manages office revenue cycle to assure accurate and timely scheduling, registration, charge capture and charge entry. Resolves elevated issues.
- Closely manages department expenses and keeps clinic operations at approved budget. Assists Director with budget planning. Recommends, evaluates, and assists in the selection/ordering of equipment and supplies.
- Ensures compliance with all governing bodies including DPH & OSHA and with professional standards industry organizations.
- Works with Director to update and keep policies and procedures relevant.
- Keeps current records of staff licenses, competency, and mandatory education/training
- Organizes, coordinates, collaborates, and accepts new projects and special assignments from Director and performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND RELATED EXPERIENCE:
Required:
- Ten or more years of supervisory or management level experience in Healthcare
- Three or more years in practice management at an outpatient Medical Group Practice
- Possesses interpersonal skills to interact with patients, patient’s families, and coworkers.
- Demonstrated knowledge of registration & health insurance verification & eligibility front office processes.
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s Degree
