The Practice Secretary plays a crucial role in supporting the delivery of services to patients and staff through a range of clerical and reception tasks. As the first point of contact, you will utilize exceptional customer service skills to greet patients, manage walk-ins, and facilitate smooth operations within the practice. Reporting to the Clinical Coordinator, this is a per-diem position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Greet patients and staff in a professional, respectful manner, addressing their needs and concerns.
- Consistently provide outstanding customer service, making patients feel welcomed and valued.
- Maintain a positive attitude and use communication devices appropriately.
- Demonstrate teamwork through self-direction and self-motivation; solve problems independently or seek assistance when necessary.
- Check out patients in the computer system, enter follow-up, referral, and X-file appointments as needed.
- Review After Visit Summary instructions with patients and print additional labels when required.
- Prepare charts and perform other opening/closing procedures as needed.
- Use computer systems to schedule, cancel, and confirm appointments, request records, print information, manage X-file appointments, and communicate via email or staff messages.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- At least one year of experience in a medical office setting.
- Proficiency with personal computers in a Windows environment; medical terminology knowledge is preferred.
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
Pay:
- Starts at $18 up to $27 depending on experience
