Overview:
This person has responsibility for a technical section of the Department of Pathology. The person assures quality laboratory service within the guidelines set by regulatory agencies. The Manager ensures that all regulatory standards and hospital standards are implemented fairly, promptly and appropriate documentation is maintained.
Qualifications:EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
- Education and Work Experience:
- Must possess a high school diploma or GED
- B.S. and M.T./MLS (ASCP) or equivalent or eligible
- A B.S. and successful completion of an accredited MT/MLS program
- A B.S in Chemistry, Biology, or other laboratory based Science including a Laboratory training program or accredited by the ABHES, NAACLS or HHS sanctioned reviewer, ASCP accreditation or equivalent.
- A B.S. in Chemistry, Biology, or other laboratory based Science degree that includes 60 semester hours of medical lab technology courses or other sciences as specified by CLIA. Prior experience in a licensed Clinical laboratory preferred.
- Must possess 5 years experience in technical area with evidence of progressive responsibilities.

Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to utilize one or more of the following:
- Microsoft Word, Power Point, and Excel
- Microsoft Outlook
- Meditech (if applicable to position)
- Epic (if applicable to position)
- NetLearning
- Electronic Performance Appraisal System
- Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language in an understandable manner.
- Must be able to work independently and possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
- Must possess the ability to effectively communicate and deal tactfully with other personnel, visitors, patients, physicians, customers, and the general public.
- Must be flexible, have personal integrity, and the ability to function effectively as a team with other employees.
- Must be able to follow written and oral instructions.
- Other Requirements:
- Must possess skills in customer service, quality control, knowledge of regulatory standards.
- Must be able to perform testing in the technical area.
